A pre-emptive claim of victory for Yoshirolla Kilomantra

In a recent post Joseph Dee is getting a bit ‘uppity’ stating, “I am leading the Yoshirolla Kilomantra Challenge” – he should start reading this blog as he states, “I’m not sure who the other [yoshirolla kilomantra] challengers are that are showing up in the results…

All you need to do to see the yoshirolla kilomantra challengers is goto the index of challengers.

With only several months to go, is this over already? Hardly.

Dave feels the pressure trying to rank in Yoshirolla Kilomantra

In a recently discovered Google Groups thread, Dave Hamel feels the pressure with a question titled: “Yoshirolla Kilomantra – Am I banned?”

Initally this reporter thought that Dave tried some dirty super secret black-hat techniques, but upon reading the entire thread (we’re not fox news here, we don’t read summaries and then write stories) – it was determined that Dave is running scared as his top spot dropped off the map for a brief period.

The message from the thread was clear – build links for Yoshirolla Kilomantra.

The Kilomantra Week so far

Only slight movement in rankings for Yoshirolla Kilomantra this week, so here we go:

Dave Hamel has once again taken top spot in Google with his page titled “Yoshirolla Kilomantra Critical Mass’ SEO contest”. He is going a great job of getting high quality inbound links.

Mr. Geoff Non-competing Competing Sowry sits consistent with two google results for his main “Yoshirolla Kilomantra” article, as well as his homepage.

Next up we have Spy Pucca (who ever could that be). I enjoyed the statement on her web site:

“My site is now #1 for the keyword “yoshirolla kilomantra.” I think this is because I’ve linked to it from a domain name that is already ranking highly for other keywords (and has a high PageRank).”

Joseph Dee still holds firm on Google with his “Yoshirolla Kilomantra” series of articles, and we at the Yoshirolla Kilomantra News are proud to report that we’re holding firm with our google placement (and praying for yahoo to start indexing this bloody site).

Yahoo! results remain pretty standard with a strange DIGG related site taking top 5 position – the web site is reported to get a ridiculous amount of hits and has the following caption on the site:

“The best Yoshirolla Kilomantra information on the web: Yoshirolla Kilomantra Blog

We at the Yoshirolla Kilomantra News are happy that other individuals recognize our committment to Yoshirolla Kilomantra related news and information.

Stay tuned for more new articles, YouTube video postings, and photo sets featuring Yoshirolla Kilomantra.

SEO Noob – Yoshirolla Kilomantra

In an effort to provide engaging content for the Yoshirolla Kilomantra CM SEO contest, I have created a new series of video-blogs, titled ‘SEO Noob – Yoshirolla Kilomantra‘.

I plan on talking about all things Yoshirolla or Kilomantra related and talking about some of the more interesting things I see different contestants doing.

All the best,
Mike

Yoshirolla Weekend Report

A lot can certainly happen in a weekend, let me tell you!

Dave is still holding strong in the top spot for google, followed closely by Joseph Dee and little Miss Inbound links with the creepy site. The new development which I have noted is how “Yoshirolla Kilomantra” comes up with different results for the ‘.com‘ and ‘.ca‘ pages on the major engines.

This reporter is happy to mention that the Yoshirolla Kilomantra News now holds some real estate on both Google and Yahoo.

Search engine Ask.com is now the wildcard of the competition with no links yet listed.

I can tell you one thing, I would not like to compete with this crowd for something real (as compared to the keyword yoshirolla kilomantra) — the competition is truly fierce.

Don’t forget to check out the updated Kilomantra Flickr photos.

YK Week 1 in Review

The first week of the Yoshirolla Kilomantra SEO contest has definitely been an interesting one.

Shortly after the announcement of the contest the first person to come up in a search was Geoff Sowrey. His post was an announcement for the contest using the title “Yoshirolla Kilomantra”, and stating that his post was to ’set the bar’.

The bar wasn’t apparently very high as the next day top ranks went to a mysterious website with a .html file linked off the main domain called yoshirollakilomantra.html — the most disturbing (and odd) part of this is that apparently YK is now linked to herbal medicine site for everything from Warts to Herpes (I’m at a loss on this one).

Dave Hamel jumped in the ring in a very interesting fashion, he immediately got some higher pagerank sites to link to a very basic page he setup. He did not immediately start ranking, but those linking him did — Friday morning he took the top spot in the coveted google search for the term “Yoshirolla Kilomantra”.

The action over on Yahoo! has been entirely different in nature. Our current leader, Lisa Wong has taken several strides in an attempt at early domination. Firstly she added an unrelated footer link to her (I’d assume) fan site for the T.V show Alias. This linked to a page dedicated to “Asian pop princess Yoshirolla Kilomantra!” (she says princess, I say sensation).

Next up we have Mr. Mark Sergienko who has taken an unprecidented step to push for total domination — he changed his name. As seen on his web site, the title (his name) clearly has the words “Yoshirolla Kilomantra” added to it. One would assume that he has legally changed his name, and this reporter wonders what else he has up his sleeve.

Congratulations to everyone for their efforts thus far, we have a long road ahead of us, and remember ‘Yoshirolla Kilomantra’ is the name of the game.

Yoshirolla Kilomantra Contest!

Here at CM the word is that we take contests pretty seriously.

So in a family fashion I decided to provide ongoing coverage of the trends, links, techniques, and events which take place over the next few months.

The rules are:

  • NO blackhat techniques.
  • Organic results only.
  • No purchased domain names using the keyword.

The contest ends on September 10th, happy hunting!

Be sure to check out the flickr site for various entries.
